Class Description:

Learn the fundamentals of quilting while creating a table runner from start to finish.  
This 5 week class will cover the fundamentals - fabric preparation, cutting, sewing, pressing and other quilt making techniques.  You will learn how to make 6 basic blocks found in many quilting designs.  You will assemble these blocks into a quilt top, learn how to machine quilt with your walking foot and finally you will bind your runner. 
This is a great class for new quilters as well as those who have done some quilting but haven’t taken a class.

Quilt as You Go

Class Description:
Yes - you can quilt a large quilt on your domestic sewing machine.  Without pain!
In this class we will explore four methods of quilting in sections to make a quilt of any size on a domestic sewing machine.  
We will focus on four techniques.  You will create samples of the following:

Stitch and flip quilting
Partially quilting and joining quilt units 
Quilting units and adding batting as you go
Assembling your quilted units using sashing

In addition to the four techniques, we will talk about how to make your quilt interesting on both the front and the back, and how to plan a project for quilting as you go.Quilt_as_you_go.html

Class Description:
This great new quilt is from Karla Alexander - one of Faye's favorites.  It uses Creative Grid's new oval tool.  This tool works differently than any other circle tool you've ever used.  Join Rose to understand the ends and out of designing a color scheme for this quilt.  What we needed to change to make everything work so fantastically! Creating Landscape Quilts
from Photographs

Class Description:

In this class each participant will start to assemble a small landscape quilt (smaller than 24" square) from a photograph, and should be able to finish the project on her own after the end of the day.   Emily will guide you in choosing fabrics, creating depth with color choices and interesting ways to create the details.  Please bring a photograph of a landscape that you like (flower photos OK too).  The photograph can have personal significance or come from a book or calendar.   If you are not good at sketching please bring an enlarged color photocopy (11x17).

Emily has been making landscape quilts for the last eight years.  She has been sewing for many years, making garments, home dec. projects and quilts.  By day she works as a goldsmith and makes enamel jewelry.
