Class Description:
Take hand embroidery to the next level.  Learn how to create embroidery as embellishment and quilting.  Create fused appliqué or choose your favorite technique.  Use some of the more modern seed stitching and big stitch embroidery techniques to create a more artful and personal statement.  Get one to three new patterns with instructions every month to use as a foundation for each block.  An email will be sent out every month with a picture of our sample. At the end, put these embroideries together as a quilt, table runners, or use each individually. Choose which patterns you want to create and collect the rest for another project. Meet fellow quilters who enjoy handwork and non-traditional embroidery. 2017 patterns will be designed to fit with 2016 blocks.Big_Stitch.html

Class Description:

Learn the fundamentals of quilting while creating a table runner from start to finish.
This 5 week class will cover the fundamentals - fabric preparation, cutting, sewing, pressing and other quilt making techniques. You will learn how to make 6 basic blocks found in many quilting designs. You will assemble these blocks into a quilt top, learn how to machine quilt with your walking foot and finally you will bind your runner.
This is a great class for new quilters as well as those who have done some quilting but haven’t taken a class.

Block of the Month
Begins Saturday, February 11, 2017
2nd Saturday of the Month
9:00am or 11:00amBOM_2017.html
We've simplified the
2017 Block of the Month:

One size. Two colorways. No finishing kit.

Size: 64" x 78" (add a border if you'd like a twin size)

Colorways: Black Forest or Spring Garden

This quilt was so fun to create for you! Shannon and I had fun making the blocks and then I put my best effort into creating a layout that shows off every block. It was a spectacular challenge. I'm so happy with the results! We couldn't have done it without Elizabeth's wiz-bang job of writing the block instructions and organizing everything for you to create this quilt in a year-long program.

Gather a group of friends and meet them once a month at Twin Cities Quilting to catch up, review the next month's block and see what’s new at the store.

Class Description:
Make this weekend bag from the popular pattern book "Trendy Totes and Carry-Alls". We can't seem to keep it in stock. If you've already bought the book and need motivation to start here is your opportunity. Jamie will lead you through pattern layout, cutting, zipper assembly and working with the Bosal foam. Come in before class on a day Jamie works (most Fridays and Saturdays) if you'd like to plan the fabric selection and get a head start on cutting out your pattern pieces.
